MIM — PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: June 2025

MIM is a minimal iOS launcher built for personal use. This policy explains how the app handles your data. The short version: your data stays on your device. We collect nothing.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash reporting services, and no external servers operated by the developer.

Device permissions

MIM requests the following permissions. All data accessed through these permissions is used exclusively on your device and never leaves it.

iCloud sync

MIM offers optional iCloud sync for notes, alarms, and settings. When enabled, this data is stored in your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit framework. The developer has no access to your CloudKit data. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings → iCloud.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We never handle or store payment information.

Third-party services

MIM uses MapLibre (open-source, MIT license) for map rendering. MapLibre operates entirely on-device and does not transmit data to any server. Map tile data is fetched from Protomaps when online; this is a network request for tile files only and does not include personal data.

Apple Music search uses the public iTunes Search API. Queries you type are sent to Apple's servers to return results; this is subject to Apple's own privacy policy.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Since MIM collects no personal data on our end, these rights are effectively managed through your iOS device. You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. iCloud data can be deleted from your iCloud account settings.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Children's privacy

MIM does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
