My story
After years working in professional kitchens across the Netherlands, I hit a wall. Burnout has a way of forcing clarity — and mine pointed me somewhere unexpected: a screen, a code editor, and a lot of questions.
I'm 41, Italian, living in Amsterdam, and in the middle of a full career reinvention. I traded mise en placefor JavaScript, and I'm learning — seriously and deliberately — how to build things for the web. This blog is the journal of that journey.
What I'm studying
- JavaScript, HTML & CSS
- React, Node.js
- AI tools, no-code & vibe coding
- Automations (Make, Zapier)
I started with AI-assisted vibe coding to get things shipped fast. Now I'm going deeper — understanding what the code actually does, one concept at a time.
Projects
A local digital bulletin board for the Amsterdam community — housing, jobs, services, buy & sell. Built in about a week using vibe coding as a first real test. It works, it's live, and it taught me more than any tutorial. First project, not the last.
Where I'm headed
- —Work as an independent freelance developer — building web apps, sites, and automated workflows for clients.
- —Launch my own digital products — ideas that solve real problems, starting from communities I know, like Amsterdam.
- —Build AI-driven automations that make small businesses and individuals work smarter.
- —Actually understand the code — not just ship it. JavaScript properly, then wherever curiosity leads.
