Gimmy — Workout Tracker for iPhone · Last updated 2 November 2026

Overview

Gimmy does not have a backend server, does not use analytics or advertising, and does not sell or share your data with anyone. The app works fully offline. The only places your training data can go are your own private iCloud account (if you turn sync on) and Apple's Health app (if you turn that on too) — both entirely under your control.

Data stored on your device

Gimmy stores the following data locally, using Apple's SwiftData framework:

  • Programs and exercises you build or import
  • Logged sets: weight, reps, RIR/RPE, notes
  • Session history and training journal entries
  • Progress photos you choose to attach to a journal entry
  • Body measurements you enter manually
  • App preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync (below), write it to Health (below), or export it yourself.

iCloud sync (optional)

If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your programs, logs, and journal are stored in your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service, so they sync across your own Apple devices. This data is private to your Apple ID and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Neither the developer nor any third party has access to it. You can turn sync off at any time.

Apple Health (optional)

If you grant Health access, Gimmy reads your most recent body weight to prefill a field, and writes your completed workouts and body weight to Health so they show up alongside the rest of your health data.

Anything Gimmy readsfrom Health is used only in the moment and is never saved into the iCloud-synced store — Apple's guidelines don't allow Health data to be copied into iCloud. Anything Gimmy writes to Health is only data you typed into the app yourself. You can revoke Health access at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Camera (optional)

If you choose to attach a progress photo to a journal entry, Gimmy asks for camera or photo library access for that single action. Photos are stored like any other journal data — locally, and in your private iCloud if sync is on. They are never uploaded anywhere else.

Subscriptions and purchases

Gimmy offers an optional subscription and a lifetime purchase through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Payment details are handled entirely by Apple — Gimmy never sees your card or payment information. Gimmy only ever learns whether you have an active entitlement, not how you paid for it.

No tracking or analytics

Gimmy does not use any analytics SDK, crash reporting service, or advertising framework. No device identifiers, usage statistics, or behavioral data are collected at any point.

On-device AI

Where Gimmy uses on-device AI features, they run locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device models. Nothing you type is sent anywhere unless a feature explicitly tells you so before it happens. AI never decides your weights, sets, reps, or progression — it is only ever an input method.

Data deletion

You can delete all data stored by Gimmy at any time by deleting the app from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, you can also delete the associated CloudKit data from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. You can export a full copy of your data as CSV or JSON from Gimmy's Settings at any time, including after a subscription lapses.
