Gimmy — Support

Workout tracker for people who train seriously

Frequently asked questions

Does Gimmy require a subscription?

Gimmy offers a free trial, then a monthly or annual subscription, and a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscribers and lifetime owners get the exact same set of features — the subscription just spreads the cost out instead of paying once.

What happens if my subscription lapses?

Your full training history stays visible and readable, and you can still export it as CSV or JSON at any time. You just can't log new sets until you resubscribe. Gimmy never checks this mid-session — only when you start a new one.

Does Gimmy work without an internet connection?

Yes. Gimmy is built offline-first — nothing about logging a workout requires a network connection, including checking that your subscription is active.

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, it's also synced across your own Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit service, inside your private iCloud account. Gimmy has no backend servers of its own and the developer never sees your data.

How do I sync between my devices?

Turn on iCloud sync in Settings on each device, signed in with the same Apple ID. Gimmy syncs automatically in the background.

Can I export my training log?

Yes, as CSV or JSON, from Settings. This is always available, even if your subscription has lapsed.

Does the AI decide my weights or progression?

No. Progression, loads, sets, reps, and deloads are always computed by a deterministic, rule-based engine — never by AI. Where AI appears, it's only as an optional input method (for example, helping you log a set), and the app works fully with it switched off.

I lost my data after reinstalling the app. Can I recover it?

If iCloud sync was on before you uninstalled, your data restores automatically after reinstalling and signing in with the same Apple ID — allow a few minutes for sync to complete.
